Unlocking Awareness Through Meditation: A Path to a Better Life

Since the last few months I have discovered that through meditating I can get into a state of awareness in which I really find out more about myself and the things that I strive for every day. I have realised that my inner conscience is the most important thing, and by being aware my lifestyle changes for the better. This is also what I have read in the book called ‘The Power Of Now’ from Eckhart Tolle. This consciousness or awakening is happening all over the world, as people are stopping the endless stream of thought and get into the now, which is the only moment that is important. Unlocking awareness through meditation is the way to peace and freedom.

Unlocking Awareness Through Meditation | How to create awareness

Creating more awareness is actually easier than it sounds. A very powerful meditation exercise is the bodyscan. To enter the bodyscan, it is best to take a couple deep breaths. Then you can start to feel your feet, legs, hips, belly, chest and arms, until your entire body has this relaxed feeling. This is essentially your natural state, this is life. At first, it might be very difficult to hold this natural state, and you might only feel it very lightly, but the more you practice this, the more intense this feeling gets. I am at a point right now where I can constantly feel this awareness in me the entire day. Sometimes it is deeper than other times. This natural state of life is the most important thing, it is your inner world of non-form. When you can enter this non-form world, everything you do in the outside world will be more meaningful, and your life will change for the better.

Why this process is important

A lot of the world that we live in today is problematic. There are wars, animals are going extinct, the climate change destroys cities and causes wildfires. This is all caused by unconscious humans. Excessively thinking is a very big problem and is stimulated by media, television and the news. When more people become aware through conscious meditation, we will see changes in the world. According to the book from Eckhart Tolle, some day our entire human race will awaken and free ourselves from thinking and from fear. When you are conscious, the way you do things externally will change for the better, because your inner world is awakened.
