In this modern day and age, there are a lot of distractions going on all the time. I have also struggled with this a lot, and it is not only about what happens around us, but also about the things we are thinking about every day. That is why it helps me to do things that are distraction-free and contain a form of simplicity. This could be exercising, for example, but also woodworking or reading a good book to relax. I have found this very helpful when times were tough and I felt stressed. Finding simplicity in a distracted world is essential in this day and age.
Finding Simplicity in a Distracted World | balance between thinking and doing
Since we live in the age of information, we are more busy with thinking and processing information. We are doing viewer physical activities every year, with more modern technology. There is a shift going on from physical work to intellectual work. While there is nothing wrong with that, it is important to find a balance between thinking and doing, so that we don’t get an information overload and feel stressed or burn out. That is why it is important to exercise for example, to clear our mind from excessive thinking.

Pursuing a career with physical and intellectual activities
There are lots of ways you can follow a career that incorporates both thinking and doing physical activities. I am interested in woodworking and renovating vintage and antique products, so with my knowledge and experience in marketing, I could start a business in restoring vintage products, or I could find a job where I can do both intellectual and physical activities. This could be totally different for you, but it could be a good idea to start a new hobby or combine an existing one with your specialized knowledge, so that you create a balance between thinking ans doing.
why balance is important
There are more and more people with burn-outs and psychological problems, and I think the root cause of that is because there are incentives in our world. Doing something like woodworking, or painting, or any other physical activity can unload our mental burden. It helps us to think less and build more patience and focus. Other things like meditating and exercising also help us to release stress and clear our mind.
