If there is one thing that is a great lesson for me, it is to embrace imperfection and to let go of the ‘perfect’ picture, or article, or anything that you and I can create in this life. The perfect one does not exist, because everyone likes something different and has their unique taste. That is why there are some people who like your work, and other people don’t. As long as you see your work as a work in progress, you can continue to create wonderful things and refine your talents.
Embrace Imperfection | How to let go of perfectionism
The way you can let go of perfectionism is to get the thoughts about how you are going to tackle things out of your head and into your creations, without you judging yourself about what you do, or other people judging about it. That last part is really important, because doubt and negative thoughts can hold you back enormously in your creative process. The reason you have these doubts is also because at school you were given a grade based on your performance, and sometimes without room for creativity. To let go of perfectionism, you might first have to know and accept yourself as you are, with all of the imperfections.

Every experience can spark your creativity
Remember that every life experience, either peaceful or tough times, can create a new wave of creativity for you. This is because you can get different ideas and perspectives from every experience. But creativity is also something that needs to have some space. Therefore, you need to make room for it in your life. You can not create things freely if your mind is constantly soaked up with distractions. Maybe you might create a space in your house where you are free to draw, take pictures, create art or any other form of creative process.
Focus on refinement
With every new sketch, picture, painting or song you create, you learn something new about techniques, expression or ways to tell your story. Therefore it is very important to see everything you create as a work in progress. This makes it easier to enjoy the journey you are on and to love every work you create. You could track the things you create and post them online on the internet like I do. This way, you can share your work with other people and it is a great way to show your work to others. If you don’t see it as a process, it could possibly be that you never take on a new project or stick to it. But with a peaceful mind and clarity, you can continue to create wonderful things.
